Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne

Clearly identified issues

Following the Grenelle de l'Environnement findings which have encouraged us all to use environmentally-friendly production methods, to conserve biodiversity and natural resources, the interprofessional body decided to include a Sustainable Viticulture programme to the certification scheme.

Launched in 2001, this Sustainable Viticulture programme has clearly defined objectives.

The Comité Champagne, which owns the certification scheme, offers technical specifications which can found on its website www.champagne.fr

  • 01/04

Controlling the use of chemical inputs with the aim of protecting public health and the environment

  • 02/04

Conserving and promoting the terroir, biodiversity and wine-growing regions

  • 03/04

A "Sustainable Viticulture Champagne" logo is given by the Comité Champagne to all accredited Champagne producers. This logo and the corresponding charter will help you to highlight your certification and demonstrate your commitment to the environment.

SOCOFRET, a certifying body authorised by the Comité Champagne, offers an efficient way of working, with qualified auditors performing the relevant assessments based on the scheme you have chosen.

SOCOFRET is the only organisation offering this certification and is based in the Marne.
